How to Keep your Audience Engaged at a Trade Show
With today’s technology, people are asking more and more if it is worth your time to attend trade shows. The simple answer is yes. Now more than ever, face-to-face connections can make the difference between gaining a new client, or letting that potential customer slip from your grasp. Attending trade shows provides businesses with a way to reach hundreds of people who are interested in what you have to offer. Now that you’re at the trade show, one of the biggest issues to deal with is keeping your audience engaged. How do you accomplish that? Follow these few tips:
Have a great booth! Taking time to prepare an eye-catching booth is your first step to getting attention. Like moths to a flame, people will flock to you if you’re able to stand out. Bright colors, interesting lighting, interactive displays; all of these will make your booth a success. With a little extra preparation, you will have the most popular booth at the show.
Utilize your salespeople. If your company has a sales team, or even just a few salespeople, have them staff the booth. They are innately people persons. Their expertise lies in making people happy and convincing them that your product/service is the best. Putting them on the front lines at your next trade show visit will be sure to help pull in customers and new leads.
Promote in advance. Around 75% of trade show attendees know what booths they want to visit before the show starts. If they don’t know you are there, they are very unlikely to stop and check your booth out. If you advertise weeks or even months before the show, attendees will be sure to jot you down on their “stop here” list.
